Kristy obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training in 2002 from Alfred University in upstate New York, however, found that she had an strong interest in the rehabilitation subsequently, leading her to pursue her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She graduated in 2002 with her MPT from D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY. Upon graduation she returned to NJ to be closer to family in Hunterdon County. She began her career in Washington, NJ where she went on to pursue credentialing in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (McKenzie Method) to help treat the growing population of patients with spinal pain. In 2008 she became director of Physical Therapy Plus in Phillipsburg, NJ, which she left in 2012 to pursue a career with Hunterdon Medical Center. She recently joined the Robbins Rehabilitation East family bringing her closer to home in Pohatcong. Over the course of her career she noticed, an increasing number of patients with chronic/persistent pain, however, felt there was a lack in consistency of care and many of these patients were having difficulty being successfully treated. She went on to study the biospsychosocial model of treatment and has studied under the NOI group (Neuro Orthopedic Institute) to focus on pain recovery. This has allowed her to reach a portion of the patient population that had previously had unsuccessful rehabilitation experiences and provide a new model of recovery.
When Kristy isn’t working as a therapist, she looks most forward to spending time at home with her husband of 11 years and 3 young, very active little boys. Growing up in Hunterdon County, she graduated from Voorhees High School where she played tennis and threw the Javelin. She was also an avid horseback rider and has a love for the outdoors and gardening.
Kristy looks forward to continuing her studies in pain science and management to assist providing new hope to individuals with persistent pain.
